Abstract

Objective: to determine the incidence of hip dysplasia in children under one year of age at the Baca Ortiz hospital. Methods: Descriptive observational study, the population consisted of 13 workers in the pediatric traumatology area of the Baca Ortiz hospital. Results: 60.9% of the respondents answered that the main cause of the development of hip dysplasia is due to the breech position of the baby during pregnancy, while 21.7% answered that family history is the main factor. Conclusion: developmental dysplasia of the hip is the main congenital malformation diagnosed and is the most common malformation seen in pediatric traumatology, in the outpatient area, and also that the female sex is mostly affected; therefore, special attention should be paid to newborns.
