Abstract

Objective: To determine the causes that influence the behavior of maternal mortality in Ambato. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results: The influence of social conditions on maternal mortality, one of the physicians, representing 33.3% of those interviewed, stated that the social condition is directly proportional to schooling because the mother is not aware of her situation due to ignorance of the subject, illiteracy and living in extreme poverty. Conclusion: The consequences of maternal death extend beyond the family sphere, affecting society as a whole. The loss of women of reproductive age diminishes the labor force and limits socioeconomic development.
