Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the risk of acquiring occupational dermatitis due to hand washing in health personnel. Methods: Descriptive observational study. Results: 69.66% use gloves in all activities, 39.33% of the population uses more than 15 pairs of gloves in a 12-hour shift, the time of use is less than 2 hours in 71.91% of the cases. Conclusions: Hand washing, use of gloves and hydroalcoholic solutions are the main causes of dermatitis in health personnel, this is exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, reporting a very high prevalence, which is related to the lack of a protocol and preventive treatment. Latex gloves are the main cause of allergic dermatitis, in addition to its high frequency of use contributes to the exacerbation of dermatitis in health personnel.
