Objective: to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders and the association with ergonomic risk factors in the personnel of the Tungurahua Tannery. Method: Descriptive observational. Results and Conclusions: The majority of the employees 74 (72.5%) presented discomfort mostly in the dorsal or lumbar section with a total of 26 (20.5%) employees presenting this discomfort, followed by 18 employees suffering from shoulder discomfort (14.2%) and 17 employees presenting neck discomfort (13.4%). The workers participating in this study showed a high prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms, mainly in the dorsal or lumbar region, shoulders and neck, all presumably as a result of the activities they perform, such as lifting heavy loads, handling machinery and tools, actions that can significantly increase the risk of musculoskeletal injuries.
