Prevalence of anxiety disorder by covid 19 in a health personnel

Abstract

Objective: to determine the prevalence of generalized anxiety disorders in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in health personnel of the Type B Health Center of the Municipality of Riobamba - Ecuador. Methods: Descriptive observational study. Results and Conclusions: Regarding the relationship between anxiety and profession, this study showed that anxiety symptoms prevailed mainly among nurses (31.6%) followed by physicians (21.1%). Nurses caring for patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) experienced significant trauma in the form of increased workload, negative patient outcomes, and decreased access to the social support system.
