Abstract

Objective: to describe the most frequent bacterial infections in patients with COVID-19 within the Intensive Care Unit. Method: We worked with a bibliographic review on specialized topics in medical sciences, nursing and epidemiology at a national and international level. Results and conclusion: Coinfection with other microorganisms, such as bacteria and fungi, is a factor that can increase disease symptoms and mortality. The clinical features of lung lesions due to Covid-19 can be difficult to distinguish from bacterial pneumonia.
