Objective: To analyze Biodentine vs MTA and its benefits as restorative materials in dental treatments. Method: Descriptive documentary with bibliographic design. Fifteen articles were reviewed in databases such as PubMed and Scopus. Conclusion: The two retro obturation materials in professional practice are very useful for the dentist, both have characteristics and advantages that can be an effective way of leading to a successful treatment. Within the comparison, key points were established for the study and research of the materials, it was indicated that BIODENTINE presents superior properties to MTA; such as short working time, low cost, easy handling and greater biocompatibility with the tissues of the working area.
