Abstract

Objective: To analyze the benefits of different stimulation treatments in children with Down Syndrome. Method: Bibliographic review with existing material from studies published in Clinical Key, SciELO, RPCAFD, MAYOCLINIC, TDX, on Down Syndrome and its different benefits with early stimulation based on the systematic review. Results and conclusions: There are more and more ways of stimulation and the degree of difficulty that the child has must be taken into account, so early diagnosis is important; motor and cognitive stimulation helps in mouth closure, phonation, swallowing, nasal breathing, improves posture, increases coordination, spatial orientation and motor skills that are caused by trisomy 21; The different types of stimulation were determined and the effectiveness of each one to improve the quality of life and self-esteem of children with Down syndrome was observed.
