Resumen

Objetivo: Proponer un modelo de Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátricos de puertas abiertas, para un cuidado humano centrado en la familia. Método: Revisión sistemática de bases de datos como Pubmed y Scielo; a partir de términos Mesh y operadores booleanos. Se elaboró el flujograma PRISMA, extrayéndose información relevante para la elaboración de la propuesta del estudio. Resultados: La UCIP de puertas abiertas debería permitir la presencia de los padres, con una vigilancia extrema de la higiene y manejo de conflictos, además incluir áreas comunes y descanso que permitan un cuidado personalizado, confortable y de calidad. La familia y el personal de enfermería tienen un rol preponderante en su funcionamiento. Conclusiones: El modelo de puertas abiertas garantiza un cuidado humano, personalizado, centrado en el paciente y su familia
