Impacto del estrés en el bienestar del adulto mayor

Objetivo: analizar el impacto del estrés en el bienestar del adulto mayor. Método: Descriptivo documental, se revisaron 15 artículos científicos publicados en PubMed. Resultados: En términos metabólicos, la disminución de la autofagia con el envejecimiento exacerba el estrés celular, contribuyendo a la fragilidad y deterioro físico en los ancianos. Conclusión: El impacto del estrés en el bienestar del adulto mayor es multifactorial, abarcando tanto aspectos físicos como psicológicos. El estrés oxidativo, el deterioro metabólico y las condiciones mentales, exacerbadas por eventos como la pandemia de COVID-19, afectan significativamente la calidad de vida de esta población vulnerable.
