Peace education and the impact of the armed conflict in Colombian educational institutions

Abstract

The general objective of the research was to analyze peace education and the impact of the armed conflict in educational institutions in Colombia. In the development of this research, the researchers considered to carry it out from the quantitative paradigm, in addition it was framed from a documentary-bibliographic design, since it is analyzed and studied a series of data obtained related to the treated topic, which means those reached and registered by other researchers. In this sense, the researchers relied on norms, laws, refereed articles, international agreements, and other bibliographic references that support this documentary research. It is concluded that the impact of the armed conflict in educational institutions in Colombia caused many negative experiences to children, adolescents, young people and the community in general, causing school dropouts and abandonment of homes. The national government, through public policies, has managed to eradicate armed acts, but there are still groups outside the law.
