Abstract

This research is based on the identification of the morphological structures present in lepidopteran larvae that commonly attack bean cultivation in our state. The methodology used was the observation through stereoscopic magnifiers, copies belonging to the teaching collection of the agronomic engineering program and the Laboratory of Research and Services of Plant Protection LINYSSAV of the National University of Experimental Francisco de Miranda UNEFM, were considered for the description easily observable taxonomic characters with an increase of 30x or less, which allows the recognition of the naked eye in the field or without the use of high resolution stereoscopic loupes such as length, color and marks of the body (mushrooms, granules), presence and number of fins, Distribution of the hooks of the propatas, also includes characteristics of behavior. A bibliographic review was carried out on the identification of some species made by other authors, a review of existing literature, and illustrative images to verify the identity of specimens. Eight species of the order Lepidoptera are described in their stages of larva and adult and they detail the damages that cause.
