Abstract

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze social pressure and judicial decisions in criminal matters in Ecuador. This research used the quantitative method, based on a documentary-bibliographic review. In addition, the inductive-deductive method was applied. The analytical-synthetic method was also used. It can be concluded that Criminal Law, due to its nature and characteristics, arouses great interest in the citizenship, who, when faced with a relevant or media case, pay special attention to its processing and resolution, becoming active critics of the judicial system and particularly of the criminal system. The social pressure exerted from different sectors is currently an extrajudicial factor that has a negative impact.
