Abstract

Objective: To analyze organizational, care-related, and educational strategies that promote humanized neonatal intensive care and their impact on dignity for the newborn–family dyad. Method: Systematic review of literature (2020–2025) in PubMed, following PRISMA 2020. Twenty-nine studies were assessed, with evidence levels classified as high, moderate, or low based on study design, bias, consistency, and effect size. Results: Strategies such as kangaroo care, skin-to-skin contact, music therapy, colostrum therapy, and family participation showed clinical benefits. Strongest evidence came from RCTs and meta-analyses, while descriptive studies provided complementary insights. Conclusions: Humanized NICU care improves clinical and emotional outcomes, strengthens family bonds, and should be consolidated as a standard practice supported by institutional policies and continuous training.
