Objective: To analyze equine viral diseases: epidemiological aspects. Method: descriptive documentary: Conclusion: Equine viral diseases represent a significant challenge for both equine and public health due to their zoonotic potential and the complexity of their diagnosis and management. The identification of performance-related genes in horses suggests a connection between genetics and susceptibility to various health conditions, while reviews of zoonotic diseases highlight the need for an interdisciplinary approach to surveillance and control of infections such as equine encephalitis and Ross River virus infection.
