Objective: To analyze the importance of sunscreen use. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Regular and appropriate use of sunscreen is essential for effective prevention of ultraviolet-induced skin damage, including photoaging and skin cancer. Although evidence strongly supports the benefits of sunscreens, challenges persist in user adherence due to misinformation and concerns about the safety of certain active ingredients.
