Abstract

Objective: to analyze hyposalivation disorders in adult diabetic patients using the Xerostomia Inventory Test (XI). Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Hyposalivation in diabetic patients is a significant health problem that requires multifaceted, evidence-based care. The use of tools such as the Xerostomia Inventory and the implementation of effective therapeutic strategies are crucial to improve the quality of life of these patients. Future research should focus on identifying specific interventions that can mitigate the adverse effects of hyposalivation in the diabetic population, thereby promoting better oral health and overall wellbeing.
