Objective: To analyze the presence or absence of diseases in the digestive system due to alcohol consumption. Method: Descriptive documentary study. Conclusion: Alcohol consumption, especially when excessive and prolonged, is significantly associated with various diseases of the digestive system, including alcoholic liver disease, pancreatitis, gastritis, peptic ulcers and oesophageal cancer. The underlying pathogenic mechanisms, involving oxidative damage, inflammation and alterations in the gut microbiome, highlight the complexity of these conditions and the need for comprehensive therapeutic approaches.
