Objective: To evaluate the relationship between tobacco consumption and the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in university students. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: This study provides additional evidence on the relationship between tobacco use and cardiovascular disease in university students. The findings underscore the urgent need to develop and implement specific interventions that address both individual and environmental risk factors associated with smoking in this population. Only through a comprehensive and sustained approach can the prevalence of tobacco use and its cardiovascular consequences in university students be effectively reduced.
