Abstract

Objective: To analyze the perception of scientific research in dentistry. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results: In relation to research methodology, 44% considered their knowledge to be average, while 32% said it was sufficient, followed by 13% who thought it was excellent, 9% said it was insufficient and finally 2% considered their knowledge to be nil. Conclusion: Scientific research in dental students is a fundamental pillar for the development of well-trained professionals prepared to face the challenges of the oral health field. Through robust institutional support, comprehensive training in research methodologies and the promotion of a collaborative academic culture, active and meaningful participation in research activities can be fostered.
