Abstract

Objective: To identify the dimensional stability and reproduction of anatomical details in alginate impressions. Method: Descriptive observational study, the population consisted of 10 dental students of UNIANDES - Ecuador. Conclusion: The dimensional stability of the alginate impressions made in patients with different casting times has been notoriously variable, and even more so if we specify the canine and second molar teeth, which is where this stability will be better appreciated. We will be able to observe that thanks to the manipulation of different sizes of mouths in the patients we had a possible hypothesis of variable size in time.
