Efficacy of antibiotic prophylaxis in patients at risk of infective endocarditis

Objective: To analyze the efficacy of antibiotic prophylaxis in patients with bacterial endocarditis. Method: Descriptive documentary study. Conclusion: The efficacy of antibiotic prophylaxis in patients at risk of bacterial endocarditis is high in patients with a higher prevalence of developing it. However, before administering it, the patient should be correctly assessed and it should be determined whether it is appropriate for the dental procedure to be performed, and it should also be accompanied by patient education and prevention. In the present study, the efficacy is 98.95% in patients in whom prophylaxis and care were administered in the correct manner.
