Objective: To analyze post-treatment complications of craniofacial fractures. Method: Descriptive documentary study. Conclusion: It was possible to determine that there is a variety of complications in the treatment of patients with craniofacial fractures. The anatomical characteristics of the middle third of the face justify the frequency and repercussions of these fractures. Miniplates or mesh with titanium screws, or both elements, associated or not with osteoconductive material, were used in the patients treated. The synthetic material, made of titanium, is insoluble in the body, highly resistant to corrosion, inert and biocompatible. Both the continuous improvement of the technique and the improvement in postoperative care are associated with a shorter hospital stay for patients and less treatment failure.
