Consequences of inadequate orthodontic treatment

Objective: To analyze the consequences of inadequate orthodontic treatment. Method: Documentary descriptive, 15 articles published in PubMed during the last five years related to the research topic were reviewed. Conclusion: It is important for orthodontists to follow ethical standards and best practices to guarantee the safety and wellbeing of their patients, above all to give them correct and punctual follow-up in the event that the patient needs a check-up, thus ensuring the correct development of the treatment and the expected results.
