Ultrasonic activation of sodium hypochlorite by root canals in endodontic treatment

Objective: To identify the use of ultrasonic activation of sodium hypochlorite in root canal preparation. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Ultrasonic activation of sodium hypochlorite generates multiple benefits by enhancing its disinfection and cleaning action in canals, facilitating physical-chemical debridement and aiding the removal of soft or necrotic tissue from canal walls; it also eliminates any debris that conventional instrumentation or irrigation cannot reach due to the narrowness of the root canals.
