Abstract

Objective: To establish the categorization of the variants of Usher syndrome, as well as to understand their respective etiologies and clinical characteristics. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Usher syndrome type 3 is the least common form of the disease. Usher type 3A is associated with alterations in intracellular trafficking processes. On the other hand, Usher type 3B is characterized by episodic hallucinations or psychosis, especially during episodes of acute febrile illness.
