Objective: To analyze the benefits of motor and cognitive stimulation in children with Down syndrome. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Motor and cognitive stimulation helps in mouth closure, phonation, swallowing, nasal breathing, improves posture, increases coordination, spatial orientation and motor skills caused by trisomy 21. Finally, the different types of stimulation were determined and the efficacy of each one to improve the quality of life and self-esteem of children with Down syndrome was observed.
