Risk factors related to suicide in older adults after emotional loss

Objective: To identify risk factors related to suicide in older adults after an emotional loss. Method: Descriptive documentary, 15 scientific articles published in PubMed were registered. Conclusion: Factors include depression, anxiety, social isolation, lack of emotional support and loss of meaning in life. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to these risk factors and provide early and appropriate interventions to prevent suicide in the older adult population.
