Objective: to expose the effective diagnosis of an infrequent pathology (septic arthritis) caused by Salmonella. Method: Documentary review. Conclusion: Septic arthritis associated with Salmonella Choleraesuis is an infection that requires early diagnosis to avoid the loss of the affected joint, that is, to improve the patient's prognosis. The treatment of septic arthritis associated with Salmonella Choleraesuis will depend on the resistance and susceptibility that it does not generate to the antibiotics usually used.
