Emphysematous gastritis: diagnosis and treatment

Objective: to characterize emphysematous gastritis for diagnosis and treatment. Method: Systematic review of 15 articles published in databases such as PubMed, SciELO and Google Scholar, using Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS) or MESH terms, such as: surgery, prosthesis, rehabilitation, tooth. Conclusion: EG, being caused by a variety of microorganisms, should be treated with broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy including fungal therapy, taking into account the prevalence of multiple microorganisms that have been described in the different case reports.
