Importance of breastfeeding in pregnant adolescents

Objective: to determine the importance of breastfeeding in adolescent pregnant women. Method: Descriptive documentary. Conclusion: Breast milk consumption is extremely important for infants; however, there is a strong tendency to suppress breastfeeding before the beneficial time, due to multiple factors such as misinformation, social, demographic and psychological factors, requiring multidisciplinary support and public policies to cooperate in avoiding the abandonment of such an important food.
