Abstract

Objective: to determine the prevalence of gingivitis in diabetic patients of the IEES hospital from December 2022 to February 2023. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results and conclusion: A prevalence of 98.6% of gingivitis was found in the patients analyzed. Likewise, it was determined that glycosylated hemoglobin is related to the presence of gingivitis. There was a prevalence of 51.6% in women and 48.3% in men, being more frequent in women. It is evident that 10% of those over 65 years of age present gingivitis and 90% of those under 65 years of age present gingivitis.
