Abstract

Objective: To identify oral soft tissue manifestations in people with uncontrolled type II diabetes mellitus. Method: exhaustive bibliographic review of scientific articles and peer-reviewed publications. Results and conclusion: People with type II diabetes present with higher prevalence in soft tissues, diseases such as: Candidiasis, periodontitis, xerostomia, oral thrush, glossitis-romboidal and fissured tongue, in which factors such as: family history, high blood glucose, therefore, overweight and obesity, race, age, pathologies such as polycystic ovary syndrome and even lack of physical activity are involved.
