Abstract

Objective: To identify whether the programs established by the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador have succeeded in reducing the rate of live births to adolescent women, through the analysis of the specific registry of live births in the last ten years. Method: Descriptive observational documentary. Results and conclusion: The programs of the Ministry of Public Health have contributed to a change in social attitudes and practices in relation to teenage pregnancies. These programs have fostered greater awareness of the risks and consequences of adolescent pregnancy and have promoted the importance of sex education and informed decision-making. There has been a decrease in the stigma associated with teenage pregnancy and an increase in the acceptance of family planning and access to contraception.
