Music therapy for anxiety management in oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment

Objective: to determine the efficacy of music therapy for anxiety control in cancer patients undergoing outpatient chemotherapy treatment. Method: Descriptive observational with a pre- and post-test design. Results and conclusion: It is determined that the use of this complementary therapy provides psychological well-being, which promotes a positive attitude towards health in the face of illness and is accompanied by an individual commitment to continue struggling with the changes that occur at this stage, the application of music therapy gives importance to the ability of people to feel satisfied with themselves, self-acceptance of their own limitations; The application of music therapy gives importance to the ability to maintain trusting, stable and intimate relationships with others, therefore it is determined that the application of "music therapy" is effective for the control of anxiety in cancer patients with outpatient chemotherapy treatment.
