Burnout syndrome among nursing staff in the clinical oncology service

Abstract

Objective: to determine the Burnout Syndrome of nursing staff in the clinical oncology service of a health institution in the city of Quito - Ecuador. Method: Descriptive observational study. Results: 31.6% (12 employees) reported being emotionally exhausted at work several times a year or less frequently; 23.7% (9 employees) several times a month; 15.8% (6 employees) several times a week, 13.2% once a week (5 employees); 7.9% (3 employees) never; 7.9% (3 people) less than once a month. Conclusion: SB exists in the nursing staff of the clinical oncology service of a health institution in the city of Quito with a prevalence of 31.58% at medium level and 68.42% at low level.
