Abstract

Conjunctivitis is one of the infections that affects a large part of the population and is a frequent reason for ophthalmological consultation due to the type of discomfort it causes, unlike other pathological agents that affect the eyeball, it does not discriminate age, sex, social stratum, it is very contagious and can be transmitted directly or indirectly as epidemics. This report is quantitative and qualitative in the analysis of the cases reported by the zonal coordination 4 and their district directions, the possible causes and their form of contagion in the sample studied. Conjunctivitis is a pathology that can be produced by many factors, of easy transmission to those who predispose numerous environmental and contact conditions to acquire it, this article will show an analysis by means of a survey made to a sample of 295 people of the different districts making emphasis in Manta-Montecristi-Jaramijó and Portoviejo where higher incidence was reported.
