Incidence of malocclusions in the quality of life of adolescents

ABSTRACT
Objective: To analyze the incidence of malocclusions in the quality of life of adolescents. Methods: For this article, a review of various bibliographic sources regarding the influence of malocclusions on the quality of life of adolescents was carried out. Results and conclusions: The repercussion of malocclusions on quality of life depends on age and cultural environment. The heterogeneity and quality of the studies must be increased by managing the different indices that are currently used, which are necessary to obtain significant results that allow assessing the consequences of malocclusions in the different areas that are affected, to implement strategies in the prevention and treatment of these disorders. The oral health professional must assess the subjective point of view of the patient, in addition to the clinical parameters and objective indices.
