Abstract

Objective: The incidence of tooth loss in older adults in the San Joaquín nursing home was analyzed. Method: Observational descriptive study. Results: 62.5% of women brush their teeth 3 times a day, while 46.15% of men brush their teeth less frequently (2 times a day). Therefore, it can be seen that the female gender has better daily dental hygiene than the male gender. Conclusion: It was evidenced that the male gender tends to present more oral hygiene complications and with their prostheses, therefore, the incidence of loss of dental pieces lies to a greater degree on this gender.
