Abstract

Objective: The stress and mental health of adults in confinement were analyzed by COVID-19. Method. Documentary type because we selected, organized, interpreted and analyzed 15 scientific articles from PubMed and Scielo. Results and conclusions: Stress does impact on the mental health of the population subjected to a quarantine period evidencing negative psychological effects that can be detected months or years later, although from this review it is more worrying than it seems therefore suggesting the need to implement stress mitigation measures. In this regard, our results do not provide strong evidence that any particular demographic factor is a risk factor for poor psychological outcomes after quarantine and therefore requires specific attention.
