INTERCULTURALITY AS A STRATEGIC ADDRESS FOR THE VISIBILIZATION OF PLURIVERSITY IN HEALTH

Abstract

Interculturality in pluriversity in health requires the development of processes where indigenous peoples and official or governmental medical systems express the will to be in a horizontal relationship. A guiding principle in which interculturality can be manifested in health is through the complementarity of these medical systems, proposing an approach of health teams with their Western medicine, with specialists and therapists of traditional medicine, respecting the Knowledge of both parties. The purpose of this research is to make the need and relevance of
interculturality visible in pluriversity in health. The methodology of this research is through dialogue. Informants are staff of institutions of traditional medicine and indigenous peoples. Conclusion: The participation, organization and popular power of the indigenous peoples seek a social and political meeting to define public health strategies, under an intercultural approach that will strengthen indigenous
traditional medicine. In the context of the protagonist participation of the group, in these spaces seeks dialogue and exchange of knowledge and intercultural experiences in health. In this sense, we are called to a change of attitude to the positions of the West. To decolonialize, to have a worldview of interculturality in Health Systems in Venezuela and the world. The Venezuelan people have an important role in the organization, participation with the popular power to exercise in the health institutions the interculturality in health with a vision of pluriversality.
