Hábitos de higiene oral que perjudican la salud bucodental de niños con síndrome de Down

Objetivo: Analizar los hábitos de higiene oral que perjudican la salud bucodental de niños con síndrome de Down. Método: Descriptiva observacional, la población fue de 40 personas de la Unidad Educativa Especializada “Beatriz Jarrín” de la ciudad de Ibarra en Ecuador, entre los 8 y 19 años. Resultados y conclusión: El 60 % de los niños participantes en la investigación no logran tener una atención bucodental adecuada, es decir que desconocen algunos hábitos esenciales de higiene oral que se puede evitar posibles enfermedades, de igual manera, el 53% de niños con SD no asistió con frecuencia al odontólogo, lo que provocó desestabilidad en la salud de su cavidad bucal.
