Rol del trabajador social con las familias de los pacientes en cuidados paliativos

Objetivo: Analizar el rol del trabajador social con las familias de los pacientes en cuidados paliativos en la Fundación al Servicio del Enfermo de Cáncer “Lola Farfán de Palacios” (FASEC) en el período septiembre 2021 – septiembre 2022. Método: Descriptiva observacional. Resultado: Se refleja la importancia de que el trabajador social desarrolle junto con la familia del paciente herramientas que les permitan afrontar de mejor manera la pérdida de un ser querido. El 87,80 % responde que mucho, el 12,20 % han respondido que medianamente. Evidenciando que dentro del rol del trabajador social está preparar a la familia para el fallecimiento de su familiar. Conclusión: Entre las principales acciones del trabajador social destacan; generar herramientas para afrontar esta problemática, intervención en crisis, promover la toma de decisiones asertivas y mejorar la comunicación entre la familia, el equipo de salud y el paciente.
