Evaluación de las fallas en la adaptación de prótesis total inferior en adultos mayores

Objetivo: Analizar las fallas más comunes en la adaptación de prótesis total inferior en adultos mayores en el centro gerontológico “Señor de los Remedios” Parroquia Urbana Ciudad Nueva, Cantón Píllaro, Provincia de Tungurahua. Método: Estudio observacional y descriptivo a 60 adultos mayores. Conclusión: Dentro de las causas que genera en los adultos mayores del Centro Gerontológico “Señor de los Remedios” de la parroquia urbana Ciudad Nueva, se deduce que existe un descuido total en relación al mantenimiento de la prótesis total con un porcentaje mayor en los hombres, con factores asociados como el consumo del cigarrillo, alcohol, descuido en el cepillado de la prótesis, entre otros factores, en ambos géneros se puede mencionar que existe un problema de achicamiento de la encía inferior puede darse por la edad, esto incide en una de las causas más frecuentes de problemas de adaptabilidad por la prótesis inferior en adultos mayores.
