Abstract

The overall objective of the research was to analyze AI-powered emotional support chatbots and their impact on adolescents’ social-emotional development. The method used in the study was a literature review; the approach adopted in this exploration was qualitative in nature, with a descriptive-analytical scope. This was complemented by a systematic review of scientific studies, which involved an examination of peer-reviewed research using a planned procedure based on the PRISM guidelines. This facilitated the collection of articles published between 2021 and 2026. The literature review was conducted in the following databases: SciELO, Scopus, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. It is concluded that these technological tools represent an innovative option to complement social-emotional learning strategies and psychological support, provided that their implementation adheres to ethical principles and is subject to professional supervision.
