Abstract

The objective of this article was to analyze artificial intelligence and students’ research skills by validating a survey instrument in a secondary school in Peru. Methodologically, the study employed a descriptive quantitative approach, using a survey as the technique and a questionnaire as the instrument. During the research, a pilot sample was administered to 20 secondary school students at the “David León” Educational Institution in Contumazá. Statistically, the instrument obtained a value of 0.992 according to the V-AIKEN test, 0.481 according to the KMO technique, and 0.81 according to Cronbach’s Alpha, making it suitable for application. As a result, it was revealed that the effective use of various AI tools could lead to the development of research competence, as assessed by the evaluation instrument presented here. In conclusion, it is suggested that student learning should be monitored through the use of AI and the aforementioned instrument.
