Teaching and learning creatively through web 2.0 tools

The objective of this research was to use Web 2.0 tools as didactic strategies to improve teaching and learning at the "Bellavista" Educational Unit in the canton of 24 de Mayo, Manabí, Ecuador. The study was quasi-experimental and the techniques applied were: documentary, through the use of similar relevant studies; and field study, through a survey applied to teachers and a test applied to a control group and to an experimental group of students. As results in the diagnostic test, the control group obtained 85% of errors and the experimental group 87%. After the traditional classes, the control group did not improve its performance (79% of errors); on the contrary, the experimental group that used Web 2.0 tools improved its performance in great proportion (96% of correct answers). It is concluded that Web 2.0 tools, when properly used, allow the achievement of significant learning.
