Emotional intelligence for the prevention of criminal behavior in Ecuadorian students

Abstract

The general objective of the research was to analyze emotional intelligence for the prevention of delinquent behavior in Ecuadorian students. It was based on the quantitative approach, supported by documentary-bibliographic research, which allowed obtaining detailed information on the investigated topic. The use of these methods made it possible to analyze documents, theses and bibliographies, which made it possible to organize an analysis of the object of study with the intention of discovering the objective presented by the researchers. As a result, it was proposed that emotional intelligence constitutes a model for the prevention of delinquent behavior in Ecuadorian students, as a pedagogical strategy that supports the formation of good responsible citizens. It is concluded that emotional intelligence constitutes a tool for the prevention of delinquent behavior, allowing the establishment of strategies for the management of emotions in a positive way and the regular conduct of behavior, anticipating and exploring dissocial behavior.
