Abstract

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the inexistence of public policies and the right to health in catastrophic diseases. The procedure developed in this research was based on the positivist paradigm, from the quantitative approach, resorting to the documentary-bibliographic typology, which allowed establishing the analysis of the object of study, with the purpose of describing the topic addressed. The material approached consisted of graduate theses, scientific research, norms, laws and refereed works. It is concluded that public policies should be taken into account for the results they generate, as an impact on society; not simply for the existence of the same, it is the responsibility of the State to issue public policies that are not just a dead letter and that become a viable solution to save the lives of thousands of people who struggle with the most complex diseases.
