Abstract

The general objective of this research was to legally analyze affirmative, discriminatory and positive actions present in the Constitution of Ecuador. The researchers proposed a methodology from a qualitative perspective, in this sense, qualitative research should be flexible, interactive, dialectical and reflexive. The qualitative research work focuses on a practical approach; being able to distinguish and obtain information and present it in a systematic, clear way. We proceeded to conduct several interviews, therefore, interviews have a great potential to expose us to the psychological side of people, but they are also an important part of what we discover about their life. Five people who have been or are the object of discrimination were interviewed, which were conducted in person and virtually, supported by technological platforms such as Zoom. It is concluded that, in Ecuador, discrimination is a palpable reality even in the 21st century.
